Third Sunday of Advent ~ Sunday, December 12, 2021, 10 am
This Sunday is the In-Person Lego Sunday!
First, children will be in worship. Following the Children’s Time and Special Music, the teacher, Joan Culbertson, will lead our children to the Nursery Room where Lego Sunday will be held. This Sunday’s lesson will be Lego building, learning songs and a lesson about Mary and the Angel in anticipation of the Birth of Baby Jesus.
Children’s Time: “His Master’s Voice”
Pastor John will be teaching our children the lesson we can learn from the dog, Nipper, at the phonograph hearing the voice of his late master. “His Master’s Voice” was originally a painting by Francis Barraud in 1884 of his late brother’s dog Nipper, a mixed breed fox-bull terrier that got its namesake from his propensity to nip at peoples’ ankles. Francis took ownership of Nipper upon his brother Mark’s death. The painting was acquired from the artist in 1899 by the Gramophone Company and adopted as their trademark. It became the most recognizable and commercially successful RCA’s Gramophone symbol.
Special Music: Ukrainian Carol Febe Avitua
M. Hayes
Our Febe is going to be brave and play for us the piano solo of Ukrainian Carol under the tutelage of Marina Thomson.
