Message Breath Work: Rev. John Song
Part 6) “Coregulating with God”
Coregulation is defined most broadly as a continuous unfolding of the bidirectional emotional linkage of two or more people that promotes emotional stability. It is creating a space between individuals where emotions are being continuously mitigated and modified through their linkage that regulates their emotions and more effectively manages anxiety and stress.
In this final Breath Work sermon series, we will learn how to use the knowledge of coregulation and apply it to our relationships with our children, partners and friends. And ultimately, we’ll learn how to co-regulate with God.
John 14:27
“My peace (shalom) I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.”
John 20:19-22
21 Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you.
As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”
22 When he had said this, he breathed on them
and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
“I want to be a feather in the breath of God.”
~ Hildegard von Bingen, the 12th-century German woman Christian mystic
“I am a hole in a flute that God’s breath flows through.”
~ Hafiz
