First Sunday of Advent
with Hanging of the Greens
Sunday, November 30, 2025, 10 am
What Is Advent?
“Advent” comes from the Latin “adventus” for arrival. It has been in the Christian spiritual tradition dating back at least to the 4th century CE. Arising from a 19th century German tradition, advent calendars count the 24 days leading up to Christmas day.
Christians throughout the world observe the sacred season by prayerfully watching and waiting expectantly, anticipating the birth of Christ. They light Advent candles, sing carols, and prepare themselves to receive the Light of the World that darkness cannot extinguish.

Advent is a sacred season of watching, waiting, & preparing for the birthing of Christ child. However, ‘tis the season where you’re pulled in too many directions and lose what matters. We invite you to carve out time during this hectic season to prepare your hearts as we journey together towards Christmas.
Colossians 1:15–17
The Universal Salvation of All Creation
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation, for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers—all things have been created through him and for him. He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
