Pentecost Sunday falls on the 50th day after Easter. And this year, it falls on June 5th. The celebration of Pentecost is one of the most ancient celebrations of the Church, celebrated early enough to be mentioned in the book of Acts 2 and Paul’s letter to the First Corinthians (16:8).
So here are some interesting facts about Pentecost which you will learn this Sunday. Even before Christians adopted Pentecost as the day of celebration of the coming of the Holy Spirit and the birth of church, ancient Hebrews celebrated Pentecost which is the second most important celebration following Passover. Do you know what Pentecost Day is for Jews?
Did you know that the meaning of “Spirit” is “to conspire”? If that is the case, what is the Holy Spirit conspiring?
As the third person of the Trinity, what is the work of the Holy Spirit? Come and find out!
