Message “GOD’s Gifts to Us” Bob Culbertson
Bob Culbertson is a card-carrying Methodist and a longtime member of our church. He is also a retired California State Park Ranger and Peace Officer, and led many Holy Walkamolies trips teaching us about natural habitats in our surrounding areas. Here in Santa Cruz / Monterey Counties, we are blessed with an abundant and rich variety of nature and a naturally diverse environment.
This Sunday Bob will be giving a slide presentation about wildlife, plants & trees in our greater area that we can visit and enjoy. It will include the upcoming Birding Festival and Monarch Butterfly festival in October. He hopes to inspire us to recognize that we are not the only game in town. The plants, trees, birds, and all creatures are gifts from God and it is our responsibility to care for them.
[Bob’s career as a California State Park Ranger and Peace Officer, spanned 33 years when he retired in 2004. He started in Southern CA but worked most of his years at State Parks in Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties, as Ranger, Chief Ranger Santa Cruz District, and ultimately Superintendent of Santa Cruz Mountain Parks area which included Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Castle Rock State Park and more.]
