Peace with Justice Sunday
Sunday, June 22, 2025, 10 am

Peace with Justice Sunday is a denomination-wide celebration intended to raise awareness that even in a world plagued by war and terror, violence and destruction, people of faith have a clear call to build peace with justice. As United Methodists, our yearning for peace must move us to act. An offering is taken on this Special Sunday to support programs and ministries to educate, equip and mobilize actions in support of identified Economic, Health, and Gender Justice Priorities.

Today is Sunday School with Joan!
[First, children will be in worship. Following the Special Music,
the teacher, Joan Culbertson, will lead our children to the Sunday School room.]

Jesse Martinez is a teddy bear of a guy who gives of himself generously to the community. Jesse is a resident of Aromas, California and an active member of the Aromas Community Grange. He is also the Concert Coordinator for the Aromas Community Grange Hall and a member of the Aromas Grange Performer’s Circle. Jesse is a native Californian and was born in Gilroy, CA. He has been playing the acoustic guitar since 7th grade (about 125 years ago) and enjoys performing folk, Americana and soft rock covers for groups and special events in the Monterey Bay area.

Message                             “Leap of Faith”                         Marieta Flores

Marieta Flores wears many hats in our community, including being our Lay Leader and the Chair of Leadership Council. It wasn’t always like this for her. So what gives? Marieta will be sharing what inspired her to make a “Leap of Faith.”

Matthew 5:14-16
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bushel. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.”
~ Desmond Tutu

“We control nothing but influence everything.”
~ Brian Klaas
