The Air That I Breathe
by The Hollies, 1974

[Eden Edell grew up in the Bay Area, has been playing music for over twenty years, performing for ten, and has written more than a handful of songs. People are often moved when they hear Eden sing and the stories she tells in her music. Her musical style is Indie Folk but she also sings Blues and Jazz tunes. Her music is described as ethereal and grounding at the same time.]

Message                                               Breath Work:                                   Rev. John Song
Part 1) “Breathe and Live”

In our modern world we suffer from being disconnected from the wisdom of our body and our heart. Mostly driven by our thinking mind, we’ve lost touch with the resources we all have within to receive guidance, make good decisions, engage our souls learning and heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

This Sunday begins the sermon series on “Breath Work”. To me, Breath Work is one of the most divine forms of prayer. This is the prayer of breathing between you and God with no intermediaries. Literally, your conscious breathing becomes the connecting link between you and God. Breathing prayer is having direct, immediate access to God. You are literally breathing God’s life-giving Spirit. Let the breath do its work. Let the divine do its work in you.

Breath Work can give you a path to reconnect with your inner knowing and facilitates a union of your mind, body, heart and soul. From here you embark on a sacred journey of discovering yourself and coming into alignment with God’s deepest desire for your life.

Genesis 2:7
Creation of Human

“Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his
nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”

“What will ultimately heal and transform us is not in our head knowing
but experiencing it somatically in our bodies.”
~ John Song

“Breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness,
which unites your body to your thoughts.”
~ Thich Nhat Hahn
