Message:            “Make Me a Channel of Your Peace”           Rev. John Song

Hurt people, hurt others. Richard Rohr said, “That which you do not transform, you will transmit.” The perennial wisdom of Rumi, the 13th century Persian mystic and a poet, wrote, “Your task is not to seek for love, but first to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have erected against it.”

We will learn the process of healing our wounds so that we may stop wounding others. Finally, how can we become a calm, healing presence for others in the face of great upheaval and uncertain future.

                    The Prayer of St. Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
