“Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife,
and they become one flesh.”
~ Genesis 2:24

Message                               Part 2: “After Ecstasy, Laundry”              Rev. John Song

This Sunday’s message is a continuation of the story of Adam and Eve. When they ate the forbidden fruit of “the knowledge of good and evil,” their eyes opened. The infatuation spell was broken. They were no longer in love with their idealized fantasy of the other. And for the first time, they saw one another who they were with warts and all.

The Part 2 of this sermon series begins with their life in the East of Eden after they were expelled from paradise, the garden of Eden. Where there’s hurt and fear, love can’t flow. How do we love the other when the infatuation spell is broken? We will learn some basic skills in navigating relationships that build trust, safety, and dependable love. Healthy love makes the world a kind and peaceful place for our children, and their children, to grow and thrive. We will learn…

Communication Skill:
3 words to use when communicating difficult and challenging issues that arise in a relationship:

I observe…

I feel…

I need (want)…

Rules of Engagement:
Creating a safe, honest, responsible, and integrous space for each other

Learning each other’s Love Language: I feel loved when you_______________.
