Words: Nancy Price & Don Besig, Music: Don Besig

Message         Part 3) “Facing Darkness Before Light”            Rev. John Song

The Twelve Step Alcoholics Anonymous is the original American spirituality founded by Bill W. I am particularly struck by The Twelve Promises in The Twelve Step Alcoholics Anonymous. It lays out what the spiritual journey of healing and transformation looks like. We will explore together The Twelve Promises from the Alcoholics Anonymous and what it teaches us about our own Christian journey.

Carl Jung said to Bill W. (the founder of AA),
“Addiction is a low-grade desire for God.”

A Process of Healing Addictions
A man walks home at night and falls into a ditch.
Next day, a man walks home and sees the ditch but he still falls into it.
The following day, a man sees the ditch and walks around it.
And then there came a day when he chose a different road.
